The Xiaomi Type-C 5-in-1 docking station has been revealed in China. The hub has an HDMI port which you can use to connect a display with a 4K @ 60 Hz resolution. A USB-C port can be used to fast-charge devices at up to 100 W, with support for PD 3.0. Plus, three USB 3.0 ports can transfer data at up to 450 Mbps, with a 1 GB file taking around three seconds in total.
Xiaomi indicates that the Type-C 5-in-1 docking station is compatible with Windows, Android, macOS and Linux devices, such as the 2022 MacBook Air with M2 chip, the Xiaomi RedmiBook Pro 15 or the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 10. A short USB-C cable is used to connect the dock to your computer. The cable is fixed to the device and can be cleverly stored in a loop using a nearby slot to protect it from dust and other debris.
The gadget has a unibody aluminum alloy shell; the company has yet to indicate the exact measurements of the device or how much it weighs. The Xiaomi Type-C 5-in-1 docking station will retail at 149 yuan (~US$20). It is unclear whether or when Xiaomi could launch the device in other markets, such as Europe and North America.
