New year, new babies! Chrissy Teigen, Jenna Johnson and more stars have welcomed children in 2023.
The Cravings founder, who married John Legend in 2013, gave birth to the couple’s rainbow baby, daughter Esti Maxine, on January 13.
“What a blessed day,” the “All of Me” crooner gushed during a private concert that evening, per social media footage. Legend noted at the time that he hadn’t gotten “a lot of sleep” but “feels energized” now that their little one arrived.
Teigen and theVoicementor — who also share daughter Luna and son Miles — previously announced in August 2022 that they were expecting another baby.
“The last few years have been a blur of emotions to say the least, but joy has filled our home and hearts again. 1 billion shots later (in the leg lately, as u can see!) we have another on the way,” the former model wrote via Instagram in August 2022, referring to her past fertility struggles and IVF journey. “Every appointment I’ve said to myself, ‘ok if it’s healthy today I’ll announce’ but then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I’m just too nervous still. I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I’m feeling hopeful and amazing. OK phew, it’s been very hard keeping this in for so long!”
Teigen and Legend’s newest arrival is their rainbow baby, who arrived nearly three years after the Utah native suffered a miscarriage with late son Jack.
“It was difficult, and I was hesitant to share it,” the EGOT winner said during an August 2022 appearance on BBC Radio 4’s “Desert Island Discs” program. “I think Chrissy was really right in encouraging us to share it because I think it really was powerful for a lot of people. Way more people than anybody realizes go through this.”
Johnson, for her part, gave birth to her first child three days earlier.

“Safe to say we’re all in love with lil Eleanor Mae Chesky, who made her big debut Tuesday afternoon weighing a solid 7 lbs 13 oz,” the NBC News anchor wrote via Instagram on May 24. “With her mom’s eyes and dad’s appetite Ellie’s already off to a fantastic start! The Counting On alum and her husband announced the birth of their third child on May 19. “He’s here!” the duo wrote via Instagram alongside a photo that showed them holding the newborn in the hospital. “Thank you all for praying … Mama and baby are recovering well.”
“A week ago my whole life changed,” the “Price Tag” singer wrote via her Instagram Story on May 19. “My son entered this world and my heart grew twice the size. The feeling is indescribable [and] I am flying in love. He is magic. He is all my dreams come true [and] he is my whole 🌍.”
She added at the time: “He and I are both doing great. I am soaking up every second and still can’t believe he is real, here and mine. I am so grateful.”
Jessie, who did not immediately share a photo or the name of her little one, previously suffered a miscarriage in late 2022.
The Bachelor alum gave birth to her first child with the hockey player, son Beckham, on May 12.
The Dancing With the Stars pro announced early on May 14 that she had given birth to her second son.
“He’s here,” Carson captioned an Instagram Story pic of herself cuddling the newborn. “Baby is getting 100% oxygen and doing great but breathing a lot fast. They are trying to get it to slow down a little in the NICU. Send prayers!”
Nearly two hours later, the pro dancer was thankful her baby boy was “back in my arms.” She added: “He has to be closely monitored but I’m so happy I’m holding him now.”
The Selling Sunset alum and her husband welcomed their rainbow baby — daughter Emma Reign — in early May. The proud parents, who also share son Aiden and daughter Elle, had previously suffered a miscarriage and a stillbirth.

The Degrassi alum announced on May 4 that she and her husband welcomed their second child, son Leo Wilder, one week prior. “This guy shot out of the birth canal like a cannonball less than an hour after arriving at the hospital,” the actress wrote via Instagram, revealing Leo’s birthdate as April 27. “We love you so much sweet Leo 🦁🧡🦁.”
The Dancing With the Stars pro, who shares daughter Sage with Cusick, announced on May 3 that the couple expanded their family.
The actor and his wife announced the arrival of their daughter on May 2. “Leni James Ludwig decided to come on her own schedule 4 weeks early. Born 4/27/23 at 7:24 a.m.,” the couple shared in a joint Instagram post. “@alexanderludwig was in another state filming and made it back just in time. A labor story for the books.”
The Hunger Games actor reposted the photo on his Instagram Story and added, “I’d run through a building for these girls.” He then captioned a photo of his little girl resting on his chest, “Dad mode activated.” The pair previously suffered multiple pregnancy losses before Leni joined the family.
News broke on April 25 that Darke gave birth to their first child. The twosome, who have been dating since 2013, were “over the moon about the pregnancy,” a source told Us a month prior.
The 2008 Olympic gymnast welcomed her fourth child in March, she revealed via Instagram one month later. The silver medalist — who is also mom of daughters Sloan, Teagan and Cass with her husband — shared multiple photos of her newborn just after his birth on St. Patrick’s Day 2023.

The Shameless alum surprised fans on April 5 when she announced the arrival of her son. Rossum shared a photo of her baby bump and her little one’s footprints to confirm his birth.
The Olympic diver and his husband, who wed in 2017, welcomed son Phoenix via surrogate on March 28.

The couple, who wed in October 2017, are already parents to 2-year-old son Ice as well as older children from previous relationships.

The Simple Life alum revealed on January 24 that she and Reum secretly welcomed a son together.
“You are already loved beyond words 💙,” she wrote via Instagram alongside a photo of her baby boy’s hand grasping onto her thumb.
Us confirmed on January 22 that the Daisy Jones & the Six star and her husband, who wed in 2015, secretly welcomed their first child, a baby girl. Smith-Petersen first alluded to the news earlier that day during the memorial for Keough’s mother, Lisa Marie Presley.

The former View cohost and Domenech welcomed their second daughter on January 19. “Yesterday morning, we welcomed our newest addition, Clover Jade McCain Domenech, to our family!” McCain told Daily Mail one day after giving birth. “Ben and I are overjoyed to introduce Liberty to her baby sister and start this new adventure as a family.”
Domenech, for his part, told the outlet he felt “so blessed” that Meghan and their newborn were doing well.
The couple welcomed their third child on January 17. “Abram Shay, you’re so loved and so prayed over, baby boy. Thankful for all that God has done for us this week 🤍,” Billingsley captioned an Instagram video three days later of her husband singing to the infant.
