Robertson and Equans have been named alongside more than a dozen SMEs on a £300m construction framework for Lancashire County Council.

The four-year framework, which opened for tenders in December, is for construction works procured on a partnering basis and is also open for use by the University of Central Lancashire, Lancashire Constabulary and the Diocese of Lancaster.

Work to be procured through the framework includes new-build construction, extensions, adaptations and refurbishment. The full list of successful contractors is below.

The council’s contract notice, published online on 22 September, stated that it would be seeking to procure construction works “on a partnering basis in accordance with the principles of Sir John Egan’s reports”. This is a reference to Rethinking Construction and Accelerating Changewhich date back to 1998 and 2002 respectively.

In its December call for tenders document, Lancashire County Council also pledged to adhere to the principles of the government’s 2020 Construction Playbook.

Some 29 tenders were received for the framework, according to the contract-award notice.

Also included in the scope of the framework is what the council described as “reactive emergency works”. While no Lancashire County Council schools were found to contain reinforced autoclave aerated concrete (RAAC) this summer, the Diocese of Lancaster’s Our Lady’s Catholic High School was forced to delay the start of term for several days to ensure its building was safe.
