More than a year after its release, the Intel Core i9-12900K still has a US$707.50 list price on Amazon, which is noticeably higher than the US$599 launch price. However, this popular 10 nm high-end desktop processor is now 41% off, so those interested can purchase it now for a more reasonable price of US$416.99.
The Intel Core i9-12900K processor was released in November 2021 with a price tag reading US$599. The OEM version arrived with a price tag of US$589, but since these versions are only available as part of pre-built systems, we have no information regarding its current price. However, Amazon has a higher list price of US$707.50 and had it for a few months now. Thankfully, that price is finally nearing the US$400 threshold as the result of a solid 41% discount.
In addition to the aforementioned deal that brings the Intel Core i9-12900K processor down to US$416.99, those interested in building a system that uses this processor from the scratch might want to consider a bundle that includes a motherboard as well. In this case, the bundle also features the MSI MEG Z690 Unify-X Gaming and a 27% discount. Thanks to this discount, the US$1,207.49 list price of the bundle goes down to US$876.98.
Although it has less than 1,000 user reviews on Amazon, the Intel Core i9-12900K is still quite popular and in demand. Back in mid-November, it had 841 ratings and a global score of 4.8/5. Now, it sits at 919 ratings and has the same global score.
Those looking for a similar processor from AMD can grab the Ryzen 9 5900X for just US$340. However, AMD’s processor lacks an integrated video solution.

In my early school days, I hated writing and having to make up stories. A decade later, I started to enjoy it. Since then, I published a few offline articles and then I moved to the online space, where I contributed to major websites that are still present online as of 2021 such as Softpedia, Brothersoft, Download3000, but I also wrote for multiple blogs that have disappeared over the years. I’ve been riding with the Notebookcheck crew since 2013 and I am not planning to leave it anytime soon. In love with good mechanical keyboards, vinyl and tape sound, but also smartphones, streaming services, and digital art.
