Best Buy is selling the Alienware m16 for only US$1,699.99. Featuring a Core i7-13700HX CPU, an RTX 4070 GPU, and 16 GB of DDR5 memory, the laptop appears to be a worthy mid-range contender. Additionally, the notebook packs a 16-inch QHD+ IPS panel rocking a 165 Hz refresh rate, a 3 ms response time, and 100% coverage of the sRGB gamut.
The 2023 Alienware m16 with a Raptor Lake Core i7-13700HX CPU, an RTX 4070 mobile GPU, 16 GB of DDR5-4800 RAM, and 1 TB storage can now be had for only US$1,699.99 at Best Buy (via slickdeals). The new discounted price is US$100 lower than the recent sales price of US$1,799.99 and US$300 lower than the US$1,999.99 list price.
Additionally, you can save even more money by going for an open-box unit, as Best Buy has the Alienware m16 for only US$1,396.99 in “Open-Box Excellent” condition. Unfortunately, the open-box units have limited availability, so you might not be able to find one.
The Alienware m16 on sale is a mid-range gaming laptop that, at least on paper, is capable enough for 60 FPS+ FHD/QHD gaming.
Starting with the CPU, the Core i7-13700HX is a high-end chip that features 16 cores (8 P-cores + 8 E-cores), a boost clock of up to 5 GHz, and 30 MB of L3 cache. According to our database, the CPU is practically on par with the last-gen Core i9-12950HX in Cinebench R23 Multi-Core and Single-Core benchmarks with scores of 20,798 and 1801 respectively.
The Alienware m16’s snappy CPU is complemented pretty well by an RTX 4070 that performs identically to the RTX 3080 Ti mobile. Per our tests at FHD resolution with the highest quality graphics, the Ada Lovelace card ran Baldur’s Gate 3 at 94 FPS, Star Wars Jedi Survivor at 73 FPS, and The Last of Us at 68 FPS.
Suffice it to say, the Alienware m16 should be able to handle almost all modern games at FHD/60 FPS+ and even QHD if you lower the settings a bit.
