A Cybertruck Supercharger session gives the closest look at the Cybertruck’s open frunk yet, with a charger cable stored in for a good measure. The Cybertruck has also been filmed towing a big ATC ROM 500 truck trailer.
In a series of firsts in the Cybertruck sightings saga, Tesla’s first electric pickup has been caught on video while towing and its lined frunk’s innards have finally been exposed from up close.
A few days ago, the frunk was photographed with the bucket installed, but from afar and with people in front of it blocking the view.
Cybertruck frunk size
The first Cybertruck frunk closeup photo, however, shows the true capacity of the luggage space at the front, with what looks like a charging or testing cable thrown in there for perspective. Tesla tried to make it as big as possible with the Cybertruck’s very short hood by enlarging it as wide and tall as it could given all the paraphernalia around it.
There don’t seem to be power outlets like in the Ford F-150 Lightning’s Mega Power Frunk from this angle, but they could all be tucked on the right-hand side which is not visible here. The tiny shock absorber at the hood hinge hints that it may not be powered so the frunk’s lid may have to be closed manually.
Cybertruck trailer towing
In another new Cybertruck sighting development, the pickup has been caught towing a giant ATC ROM 500 trailer, of the type used for hauling cars and trucks inside.
The ROM 500 weighs about 3,354 lb and can carry payloads of up to 6,636 lb, while its 24′ 10″ length and 102″ width dimensions could easily fit another Cybertruck or Rivian in there.
While it is not clear if or what something was carried, a Rivian R1T owner followed the Cybertruck while it was pulling the car hauler on city roads, and filmed it while passing and making a left turn with the huge truck trailer in tow.
