Landsec gets go-ahead for London Bankside green office scheme

The Red Lion Courtdevelopmentwillcreate230,000sq ft of offices, retail and open public spaceon the banksof the River Thames,adjacent to Borough Yards.

Designed by BjarkeEnglish Group, Red Lion Court hasbeen designed to be net-zero in both construction and operation.

By reusing part of the existing building and prioritisinglow carbon andrecycled materials, Landsec expects to exceed London sustainability, biodiversity and energy efficiency targets.

It will target WELL Core PlatinumandBREEAM ‘Outstanding’.

Landsec’s client team includes cost consultant Gardiner & Theobald, M&E engineer Hilson Moran and structural engineer AKT II.

Landsec’s pipeline in Southwark includesa cluster of green offices:The Forge, the UK’s first net-zero commercial building designed in line with the UKGBC’s framework,Timber Square,Red Lion Courtand Liberty of Southwark.
