ME Lisbon

The ME Lisbon hotel will open in 2024, allowing Meliá Hotels International to extend its strategy of expanding its luxury offering in Portugal.

The new ME Lisbon will be located on the corner of Antonio Augusto de Aguiar and Fontes Pereira de Melo avenues, next to Eduardo VII Park and Marquês de Pombal Square, and will be the group’s first luxury property in the Portuguese capital.

The property will have 213 rooms, an à la carte restaurant and an All Day Dining area offering international cuisine, as well as one of the brand’s distinctive features: the Radio Rooftop Bar.

The offer will be completed by a gym, a spa, a health club with an indoor pool, a sauna, a Turkish bath and massage cabins, more than 600 square metres of space for meetings and events, with 11 multifunctional rooms.

Already under construction, the future hotel is the work of Portuguese architect João Paciência and will feature a semi-transparent glass façade. It will also incorporate sustainable technologies to minimise its environmental footprint. The interior design is the work of Broadway Malyan Studio.

With this hotel, owned by the Discovery Portugal Real Estate Fund, Meliá is continuing its growth strategy focused mainly on the high-end and luxury segment. In addition to ME Lisbon, the ME by Meliá brand will open at least three more hotels between 2023 and 2024 in Malaga, Malta and Guadalajara.

Moreover, for Meliá, which already has two properties in Lisbon, this will not be the only opening planned in the city in 2024, as it also plans to open its first INNSiDE by Meliá hotel.
