The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will power the majority of next-gen Android flagships and is scheduled to debut later this month. The premium chipset appears to have made an early trip over to AnTuTu, however, with the benchmark revealing significant GPU performance upgrades.
Qualcomm is set to release its next-gen flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, later this month. Ahead of its launch, however, the chipset has made multiple trips to various benchmarks, with the latest of the lot revealing the SoC’s performance capabilities on AnTuTu.
As revealed by Digital Chat Station, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 pulls in a humongous total score of over two million on the benchmark. On the GPU end, it scores about 840k, while raking in a score of circa 440K on the CPU side.
Those numbers translate into a solid generational upgrade over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Going by AnTuTu’s current rankings, the Xiaomi 13, for example, scores about 390k in CPU and 603k in the GPU test. That considered, it appears the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will deliver about a 15% performance boost in CPU performance, and about a 39% increase in GPU—both relative to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Either way, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is expected to debut on October 24, so it won’t be long until official numbers are revealed.
