Kenyatta’s favorite Mercedes-Benz 600 (W100), popularly known as Grosser Mercedes (Grand Mercedes), was the car of choice for affluent celebrities and powerful world leaders.
According to local news report, Jomo Kenyatta’s iconic Mercedes-Benz 600 limousine now resides in the new Uhuru Gardens Museum after being transferred from the State House, Nairobi.

Mzee Jomo Kenyatta’s well preserved classic Mercedes-Benz limousine is now on display at the Uhuru Gardens, where it is being protected by the Kenya Defence Forces.
The Mercedes-Benz 600 was produced between1964 and 1981, during which a total of 2,677 units were produced, comprising 2,190 Saloons, 304 Pullmans, 124 6-door Pullmans and 59 Landaulets.
