The melancholic punk band based in Nueva York, Oxymorronscontinues his genre revolution with his latest single, “Last Call”which launches today via Mascot Records.

Produced by Zach Jones (Fever 333, Nova Twins, Crown The Empire), “Last Call” is a rousing hip-hop/rock tune that explores self-medication with alcohol to quell your inner demons. The brothers and co-leaders WEEE y TO they are sincere in their lyrics, vulnerability shining through each verse and accentuated in their serious tonality and masterful cadence. The song became something very special with the addition of singer/songwriter/producer Troi Irons (He/Him/They), whose raspy, evocative voice perfectly conveys the desperate hook: “Last drink in my hand, this time I’m gonna take it easy, oh shit, I’m screwed.”

When asked what inspired them to write such an honest song and come out so openly, the band explained: “‘Last Call’ it is an exercise in vulnerability and uses our music to help us better understand ourselves and our coping mechanisms. Too many times we have found ourselves drowning at the bottom of a bottle, using alcohol to help us feel something different, or feeling nothing at all. Whether you’ve struggled in the past or are struggling right now, we hope this song helps you feel seen and plays a role in helping you stay out of trouble in the future.”

The artist Troi Irons brought a different perspective to the song and shared: “I’ve been a fan of Oxymorrons and what they’ve been doing for a long time, so I was excited to get on board with this song. I don’t really drink, but it’s more of a metaphor for how humans tend to reach for what’s closest to help us feel less alone. It is not always healthy. Hopefully people will look to music to feel less alone.”
