Realme’s next generation of mid-range Android smartphones is starting to take shape according to some new leaks. Well, its lowest-end variant has surfaced again in the latest tips, whereas what might be the 10 series’ flagship is the only other one to break cover thus far. It seems they might have batteries of roughly the same capacity, although other specs might differ greatly between the two.
Realme launched 9-series smartphones in 2022, thereby hinting that their line is ready to go into double figures in the coming year. Now, the regulator TDRA has effectively and inadvertently confirmed that this is the case by certifying 2 10-series units as approval for use as electronic equipment in its jurisdiction.
One of these is the RMX3630, or, as it is overtly referred to here, the “Realme 10”. With its rumored Helio G99 platform, it is thought to be near the bottom of the barrel as far as smartphones of its upcoming line go. By contrast, it has been joined on this official database by the RMX3686, or “10 Pro+ 5G”, which may, by the sound of it, be the flagship of the bunch.
They are the only 2 10-series phones to show up in leaks thus far; however, going by the gulf between their model numbers, there may be room for more along their spectrum. Should the 10 Pro+ really go at the top end, the new Realme smartphones are said to top out at the new MediaTek Dimensity 1080 in terms of processing specs.
Then again, it seems that the 10 might have something else important in common with the 10 Pro+. They have been received Chinese quality certifications (CQC) that indicate rated capacities of 4,880mAh and 4,890mAh respectively, which might imply that they will both be marketed as having 5,000mAh batteries.
Now, it only remains to see if further 9-series successors come to join them in pre-launch leaks. They have a lot, large main rear cameras and exciting co-branding campaigns included, to live up to in 2023; it will be interesting to see how they intend to improve on this record.
