Sunday’s NCAA championship, in which LSU won its first title over Caitlin Clark and Iowa, was the most watched women’s basketball game on record, ESPN announced Monday.
The game, which aired on ABC and ESPN2, drew 9.9 million viewers, ESPN said, citing initial Nielsen ratings, with a peak of 12.6 million. Viewership jumped 103% year over year, according to Disney’s

ESPN, which added that the game was the most-watched college event ever on its streaming platform, ESPN+.
Louisiana State, led by Final Four most outstanding player Angel Reese, put on an offensive showcase Sunday, routing Iowa and its record-setting scoring star Clark, 102-85.
UConn won the men’s championship game Monday night, in a 76-59 rout of San Diego State.
