A leak from Weibo says the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 scores 2,723 and 7,525 in Geekbench 6’s single and multi-core tests. In AnTuTu V9, the AP allegedly scores 1,712,271 points.

An alleged Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Geekbench 5.4 result popped up earlier this year. Unfortunately, it was in the “too-good-to-be-true” territory as it outperformed the Apple A16 Bionic by quite a bit. Will it be able to defeat the TSMC N3B-based A17 Bionic, though? A new leak from Weibo answers that question.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 scores 2,563 and 7,256 in Geekbench 6’s single and multi-core tests, respectively. It performs remarkably better in a second run (2,723/7,525). An earlier leak showed the Apple A17 Bionic netting 3,019 and 7,860 in the same test. However, a subsequent report stated that its actual performance could be slightly lower due to ongoing issues with TSMC’s N3B node.

The leak also mentions the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3’s “GPU” score (8,621). However, it is unclear which API it uses (Vulkan/OpenCL) and means little without context. In AnTuTu V9, the next-gen Qualcomm flagship scores 1,712,271 points, higher than any chip on the market. It isn’t surprising, given its six performance cores, which could be arranged in a 1+3+2+2 or 2+2+2+2 configuration.

It is pertinent to note the above Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 performance numbers come without corresponding Geekbench listings and should be treated as such until they materialize. The generation-over-generation performance is way too high, especially for a chip manufactured on a marginally better node (N4 vs N4P).
