The Kano State Hisbah Board has warned commercial tricyclistspopularly known as Keke riders, against blasting music and pasting nude and erotic art prints on their 3-wheeled vehicles.

Commander General of the board, Sheikh Harun Ibn-Sina, gave the warning while addressing the press in his office. Ibn-Sina noted that the act of indiscipline was contrary to the teachings of Islam.

The Commander General said :

“It has come to our notice that the tricycle riders are committing three major offences which are against our norms and values as Muslims. They play music so loud that even those outside are disturbed.”

The new 2023 National Automotive Industry Development Plandeveloped by the National Automotive Design and Development Council, has been approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) on May 10th, 2023.

In a statement, the NADDC said that the new plan was developed to aggressively build on the successes that have been achieved so far in the Nigerian Automotive industry.

The NADDC said that the newly approved NAIDP is aimed at enabling the exponential increase in the local production numbers of vehicles, reaching 40% local content as well attaining 30% locally produced Electric Vehicles.

Officers attached to Iju Police Division have arrested a ‘one chance’ syndicate who specializes in picking their victims with their Toyota Corolla at 7up by Toll gate.

In a statement, Police said that the suspects, a male and a female, were arrested following their victim’s scream for help. Their vehicle was also confiscated during the arrest.

“The suspects, Folashade Sholagbe ‘f’ aged 36 and Seun Oke ‘m’ aged 29 specialized in picking their victims with their Corolla (pictured) at 7up by Toll gate.”

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has debunk rumors currently making the rounds about the agencies’ intention to introduce religious law, Sharia, to enforce traffic rules and to prosecute traffic offenders.

Bauchi Sector Commander, Yusuf Abdullahi, had on Thursday called for the application of Sharia law to prosecute traffic offenders to stem road crashes in the country.

However, the agency noted that it is neither a religious nor sectional organisation, but a Federal Government Agency established with a mandate that is guided by the provisions of an establishment Act.
