Ahsoka Tano is one of the greatest heroes Star Wars has ever seen. Trained by Anakin Skywalker (pre-Darth Vader) and a survivor of the fan-favorite Clone Wars doomsday event, she’s currently the most powerful Jedi to grace our screens. It’s why the character has made the transition from an animated to a live-action character, appearing in multiple Disney+ Star Wars spinoffs—before eventually landing her own show in Ahsoka. Teeming with conflict, the debut seasonn feels as if it has more villains than heroes. What’s our hero to do?
Alongside the much-anticipated debut for Grand Admiral Thrawn, the blue meanie is far from Ahsoka’s (Rosario Dawson) only foe. Baylan Skoll, a former Jedi knight who now wields a red lightsaber, has mysteriously allied with Thrawn. So have the Nightsisters, a coven of space witches who bend dark magic to their will. If popular fan theories on Reddit are to be believed, it won’t stop there, either. As we reach the finale of Ahsoka, here are our favorite theories for the final episode and the story moving forward.
Baylan Skoll
Skoll seems too cool to just be Admiral Thrawn’s pawn (rhyme intended). He not only has his own apprentice, but he even defeated Ahsoka once already in Episode Six. At the very least, he’s enough of a big bad to serve as Ahsoka‘s Season One finale villain. The two even fought again in the culminating events of Episode Seven! According to Skoll, he seeks a “new beginning” that will end both the Jedi and the Sith. Because of the sequel trilogy, we know that this event never occurs. Maybe Ahsoka stops it! But, Skoll could have one badass plan still under his sleeves.
Ahsoka’s Future
Since Ahsoka takes place between Revenge of the Sith and The Force Awakens, we know a tiny bit about Ahsoka Tano’s fate. Namely: something must happen to her before The Force Awakens, because she was not a part of the latest trilogy. I’m not saying that she dies, because we don’t know for sure… but maybe she does? Hopefully, it’s a heroic end. It’s still possible that Ahsoka could have lived—just like The Last Jedi‘s Luke Skywalker. That would mean that she doesn’t help at all in the latest trilogy’s conflict—which would not be very nice!
Keep an eye on those space witches!
Grand Admiral Thrawn
Thrawn is this era of Star Wars lore’s greatest villain. He is a military force to be reckoned with and the figure solely embodying the Empire’s potential return to power. Minor villains have gone to great lengths to bolster his forces, especially in Ahsoka, and it would be a disservice to the character should he meet his end so quickly in the finale.
Thrawn is likely being set up as Marvel’s Thanos—but for the Disney+’s Star Wars shows. He’s a villain so powerful that Ahsoka must team up with The Mandalorian, Baby Yoda (*ahem* Grogu), and the entirely new Star Wars: Rebels live-action crew. Plus, you can never be sure what’s going on with those creepy space witches! We’ll find out next during Ahsoka‘s season finale.
