The MediaTek Dimensity 9200 is on the way. MediaTek’s next-gen flagship was rumored to launch before its rival, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and those rumors look to have had substance to them, with a new leak revealing what appears to be a press invite for a November 8 event.
The MediaTek Dimensity 9200 will succeed the Dimensity 9000 as the Taiwanese company’s next-gen flagship chipset. Earlier reports indicated that MediaTek was hoping to beat the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 by debuting earlier, and that now looks to be the case.
While MediaTek hasn’t yet announced a launch date for the Dimensity 9200, it appears the company is already sending out press invites for the event. One of those invites has now leaked in the wild, revealing the date for what will almost be the Dimensity 9200 launch event: November 8. The exact time for the event is listed as 14:30 to 15:30, presumably Taiwanese time. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will debut about a week later.
The Dimensity 9200 is expected to share a similar architecture with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. On the CPU end, it’s touted to sport one Cortex-X3 prime core, three Cortex-A715 mid-cores, and four Cortex-A510 cores. On the graphical end, a new Mali Immortalis G-715 MC11 GPU is heavily rumored.
