Amazfit has started pushing a new update to the T-Rex Ultra, one of its most recent smartwatches. With the device’s latest update, it is now possible to track more activities and receive more data about others. Amazfit has overhauled its maps app too, among other changes.
Amazfit has released a new software update to the T-Rex Ultra, one of its recent smartwatches. To recap, the T-Rex Ultra effectively succeeds the T-Rex 2 and centres around a 1.39-inch AMOLED display supported by a 500 mAh battery. Given its large display and comparatively high-capacity battery, the T-Rex Ultra is on the heavy side at 89 g.
Still, the 47 mm smartwatch provides up to 20 days of battery life and is 10 ATM water resistant. Seemingly available globally, the smartwatch’s latest update adds new sports modes, such as bouldering, surfing, kite surfing and wakeboarding. Moreover, the T-Rex Ultra can now segment laps and track when you move lanes, theoretically giving runners greater data insights.
Amazfit adds that the update brings support for capturing pool swimming temperature data too, and external cadence sensors for use when cycling. Furthermore, the T-Rex Ultra can store multiple regional maps, while the map app itself has received UI refinements. Specifically, Amazfit has added the option of setting different map styles, including light and dark modes. Also, you can now zoom in and out in the default maps app, a feature that was previously unavailable. The latest update for the T-Rex Ultra should be available to download now.
