Dell has showcased the UltraSharp 38 (U3824DW), a 37.5-inch curved monitor with an IPS Black panel. The monitor also has numerous ports, with 9 USB ports of various standards and three video outputs.
Dell has presented the UltraSharp 38 (U3824DW), a curved monitor that it has introduced together with the UltraSharp 32 6K. According to Dell, the UltraSharp 38 is the world’s first 37.5-inch and WQHD+ monitor with IPS Black technology. In practical terms, the IPS panel delivers a 2,000:1 contrast ratio with 300 cd/m² peak brightness and 98% DCI-P3 colour space coverage. Supposedly, the monitor also provides the same coverage of the Display P3 colour space and masters the sRGB colour space with 100% coverage.
Dell adds that the UltraSharp 38 offers 5 ms response times, a 60 Hz refresh rate and a 3,840 x 1,600-pixel native resolution with a 21:9 aspect ratio. For some reason, the company has not confirmed the monitor’s curvature. Elsewhere, the UltraSharp 38 features an adjustable stand that can be rotated by +/-30 degrees, raised by up to 120 mm and tilted by (-5°/+21°). Additionally, Dell includes 100 x 100 mm VESA mounting holes and the following ports:
- 1x 3.5 mm line-out
- 1x DisplayPort 1.4 (3,840 x 1,600/60 Hz)
- 2x HDMI 2.1 TMDS (3,840 x 1,600/60 Hz)
- 1x RJ45 2.5 Gigabit
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A (BC1.2 charging at 2 A)
- 4x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A downstream (10 Gbps, data only)
- 2x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C downstream (10 Gbps, 15 W charging)
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C upstream (10 Gbps, data only)
- 1x USB Type-C upstream (DisplayPort 1.4 Alt Mode/90 W USB Power Delivery)
Moreover, the UltraSharp 38 has a built-in KVM switch and stereo 9 W speakers. The UltraSharp 38 (U3824DW) will be available from June 22 in North America. At launch, Dell will charge US$1,529.99 in the US and CA$2,049.99 in Canada. Dell has not confirmed pricing or availability for other markets yet, though.
