A couple of new Sony Xperia 1 V rumors have turned up lately, with both of them being quite believable. One is in regard to what bundle offer Sony might promote for Xperia 1 V pre-orders while the other suggests a handy performance bump is on the cards. There are some expectations that the Sony Xperia 1 V release date could be in May.
It’s normal for Sony to offer an enticing treat with its new top-of-the-line Xperia Mark 1 devices, to soften the blow of the typical eye-watering price tags. People who pre-ordered the Xperia 1 III in 2021 had the chance to own a free set of WF-1000XM3 noise-canceling earbuds (US) or WH-1000XM3 over-ear headphones (UK/Europe). Sony kept up the generosity with 2022’s Xperia 1 IV model, which was bundled with free WF-1000XM4 earbuds for fans in the US and WH-1000XM4 headphones for buyers in the UK/Europe. It’s hardly a stretch of the imagination to picture the same thing happening with 2023’s Xperia 1 V smartphone.
So, SumahoDigest reports that the Sony Xperia 1 V bundle offer will consist of the phone and WF-1000XM5 earbuds. Presumably, based on that claim, this could be the free gift for shoppers in the US while those who pre-order the Xperia 1 V in the UK or Europe might get the WH-1000XM5 headphones (£349 over at Sony UK). Interestingly, the WF-1000XM5 buds have not been released yet but are expected to be available soon, with some predicting a price of about US$300 for the upgraded audio device. While the Xperia 1 V is more than likely going to be priced at around US$1,500-US$1,600, it’s still good to see a company like Sony realizing this is an exorbitant amount and placing a valuable free gift in the deal as a sweetener.
As well as that potential promise, it seems there is a chance that the Xperia 1 V, which could be announced in May according to some rumors, might come with a base model featuring 16 GB RAM. While this comes from a pretty tenuous source via a Geekbench record that unsurprisingly doesn’t appear to exist, there is still some argument to be had that this might be the case with the Sony Xperia 1 V. The predecessor did come with 12 GB of RAM but a special Gaming Edition was later released in Japan that sported 16 GB (model XQ-CT44). Sony could probably get away with going for 12 GB of memory again, but it would be a useful spec bump for buyers to rely on 16 GB of RAM from the get-go.
