Fossil has launched the Gen 6 Wellness Edition Hybrid smartwatch. The wearable has an E-ink display allowing up to two weeks of battery life. Built-in lights help you to read the screen in low lighting, and analogue hands indicate the time. Health features of the gadget include SpO2, heart rate zone and VO2 Max tracking.
The Fossil Gen 6 Wellness Edition Hybrid smartwatch is now available. The wearable has health features such as tracking your blood oxygen level (SpO2) and heart rate zones. The watch can automatically detect a workout if you forget to trigger the exercise log, and the gadget can also estimate your VO2 Max, helping you to understand your fitness level.
Other features include sleep quality tracking, Amazon Alexa voice commands and customizable watch faces. The significant difference between this new model and the Fossil Gen 6 Wellness Edition Smartwatch is the display; the Hybrid version features a 1.10-in (~28 mm) E-ink display, and the regular model has a 1.28-in (~33 mm) AMOLED screen. The E-ink display allows the gadget to last up to two weeks on a single charge, significantly improving the battery life compared to the 24 hours estimated for the standard version.
The charge time for the Hybrid watch is slower, taking 50 mins to reach 80% charge rather than the 30 mins required by the original model. Integrated lights make it easier to view the E-ink screen at night, and analogue hands in front of the display indicate the time. The Fossil Gen 6 Wellness Edition Hybrid smartwatch is selling for US$229. The wearable is available with black, silver and rose gold watch faces which can be paired with a range of colored 20 mm (~0.79-in) wide silicone straps.
