The IHG Group continues to expand its portfolio of luxury and lifestyle hotels in Europe with the addition of six Hotel Indigo properties.

In France, Hotel Indigo Bordeaux is preparing to open its doors to guests this autumn. At the same time, IHG has signed agreements for Hotel Indigo Trieste – Palazzo Kalister, Hotel Indigo Florence and Hotel Indigo Turin in Italy, as well as Hotel Indigo Jerez in Spain and Hotel Indigo Faro in Portugal. The move underlines IHG’s commitment to expanding its presence in Southern European markets.

This achievement marks the latest step in the rapid ascent of the Hotel Indigo brand, which currently boasts 143 operational hotels and a strong pipeline of 127 properties worldwide.

Hotel Indigo Bordeaux, France: Nestled in the famous bohemian enclave of the Quartier des Chartrons, this hotel will feature 100 rooms, four multi-purpose meeting spaces and a rooftop restaurant offering panoramic views of the Garonne River. Its strategic location puts it close to the tramway, offering direct access to the main railway station and the Cité du Vin wine and trade museum.

Hotel Indigo Trieste – Palazzo Kalister, Italy: This transformation project, carried out in partnership with long-time collaborator Gruppo CHC, will convert a 19th-century palace in Trieste into a 107-room hotel, scheduled to open in 2025. Located near the border between Italy and Slovenia, this region is booming thanks to cruise tourism, its local port and the opening of a major convention center in 2020.

Hotel Indigo Florence, Italy: Scheduled to open in late 2023, this 160-key property is close to the main attractions of historic Florence, including the Duomo and Piazza della Signoria. A partnership with Grape Hospitality ensures that the hotel will feature two restaurants, an additional bar in the inner courtyard, a fitness center and underground parking in the heart of the city.

Hotel Indigo Turin, Italy: Opening later this year, this 50-room hotel, in collaboration with Gruppo CHC, is ideally located in the historic heart of Turin. Close to Piazza Castello, the Royal Theater and its gardens, and the Palasport Olimpico arena, it is ideally suited to business and leisure travelers exploring this renowned northern Italian city.

Hotel Indigo Jerez, Spain: Scheduled to open in early 2025, this 78-room hotel, a conversion project in partnership with Meravo Management AS, will be located in the center of Jerez. Comprising two historic Andalusian buildings, this property will be a top choice for guests visiting the Alcázar de Jerez de la Frontera, an 11th-century Moorish fortress; the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art, renowned for its horse shows and carriage museum; and the Sherry Triangle, the heart of the region’s Sherry production.

Hotel Indigo Faro, Portugal: scheduled to open in mid-2025, this 127-room hotel will feature a rooftop pool overlooking the lagoon and marina. In partnership with Mercan Properties, the establishment will immerse visitors, both local and international, in the sights and sounds of its neighborhood, while introducing them to the unique history of its city, the capital of the Algarve region.

“At IHG, we are rapidly expanding our business in Southern Europe, and we are delighted that these six outstanding Hotel Indigo properties add to our presence in Iberia, France and Italy – key markets for us, where we work in partnership with exceptional owners. Our Hotel Indigo brand is a great success story for IHG in Europe and around the world, and we continue to develop its portfolio with wonderful properties that offer our guests memorable stays rooted in the history of their neighborhoods. Hotel Indigo is expected to double its portfolio over the next three to five years and continue its strong growth as one of the leading lifestyle brands in this fast-growing segment, and its continued expansion in Europe will play a major role in this.”  – Eric Viale, Managing Director – Southern Europe, CIS & Georgia, IHG Hotels & Resorts
