HP has added new hardware options for its Omen 45L, Omen 40L and Omen 25L gaming desktops. They can now be configured with 13th-gen Intel Raptor Lake processors and Nvidia GeForce RTX 4000 graphics cards. They will go on sale later this year and HP plans to reveal their prices soon.

HP has announced three new pre-built PCs alongside its multiple gaming laptops at CES 2023. They are essentially newer versions of the HP Omen 45L, Omen 40L and Omen 25L and can be configured with a variety of current and last-gen hardware from Intel, AMD and Nvidia. Unfortunately, the desktops will hit shelves only in winter this year and their prices will be revealed around that time.

Team Red enthusiasts will be disappointed to know that the new HP Omen 45L, Omen 40L and Omen 25L gaming desktops can only be configured with Intel Raptor Lake processors. Thankfully, HP has given users the option to use last-gen RDNA 2-based graphics cards; some RDNA 3 models would have been nice, and one can hope that HP adds them later.

HP Omen 40L

Starting with the HP Omen 40L, one can pick an Intel Core i9-13900K, Core i7-13700K (plus their KF/non-K variants) and Core i5-13400. The Core i7 and Core i9 models are purchasable with the optional 120 mm AIO cooler. Otherwise, one gets a bog-standard RGB air cooler. Graphic card choices include the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090, RTX 4080, RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 3060, Radeon RX 6700 XT and Radeon RX 6600 XT.

HP allows users to spec the Omen 40L with up to 64 GB of DDR5 5,200 MT/s Kingston RGB memory. Those into memory overclocking can add a heatsink for better heat dissipation. Storage options include up to two 2 TB WD Black NVMe SSD and four 4 TB 7,200 RPM mechanical hard drives. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3 and Gigabit Ethernet. Based on their hardware specs, one can pick a 600 W, 800 W or 1,200 W power supply, all three of which are 80 Plus Gold certified.

The HP Omen 45L has more to offer, at least in terms of GPU choices, which include a GeForce RTX 3090, RTX 3080 Ti, RTX 3080, RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3070 on top of the ones offered by the Omen 40L. CPU options, however, are limited to the Core i9-13900K/KF and Core i7-13700K/KF. One can pick 120/240/360mm AIO coolers for their processors. Memory and storage options are pretty much identical to the Omen 40L, as are the connectivity features and power supply choices.

That leaves us with the HP Omen 25L, the smallest gaming PC of the lot. It doesn’t offer nearly as many hardware options, but some of those decisions likely stem from the sheer size of Nvidia’s Ada Lovelace graphics cards. For now, one can pick anything ranging from a GeForce RTX 3080 to RTX 3050. Interestingly enough, there is even a model with a two-generation old, Turing-based GTX 1660 Super up for grabs. AMD graphics cards include the Radeon RX 6700 XT and RX 6600 XT.

HP has also restricted the CPU choices for the Omen 25L, allowing users to pick between an Intel Core i7-13700, Core i5-13400 (F and non-F), and Core i5-13600K/KF. The pre-built gaming desktop supports up to 64 GB of slower DDR5 4,000 MT/S memory, two 2 TB WD Black NVMe SSDs and three 4 TB 7,200 mechanical drives. Wireless connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3.
