Thanks to its Core i7-12700H CPU and GeForce RTX 3050 Ti GPU, the Schenker Vision 14 offers plenty of performance in a compact 14-inch chassis – without the big battery, the weight decreases from 1.3 (~2.87 lbs) to just above 1.1 kg (~2.43 lbs). In this case, the Vision 14 is practically unrivaled.

With the extremely lightweight Vision 14, Schenker has had a modern and capable 14-inch ultrabook on offer since last year, but the Tiger Lake quad-core processor was somewhat limiting the potential of the system. Additionally, the beautiful 3K panel (16:10, matte) draws a lot of power, which combined with the small 53-Wh battery resulted in poor battery life. In early 2022, a model with the dedicated GeForce RTX 3050 Ti GPU was released to significantly boost the graphics performance.
With the latest Vision 14, Schenker has upgraded the device once again and extensively with a massive 99-Wh battery now being an option. Although this increases the total weight slightly and required a case that is thicker by about 1 mm (~0.04 in), the runtimes are virtually twice as long. With the new Core i7-12700H from Intel’s current Alder Lake-H generation, the CPU performance has also been upgraded significantly. It runs at 40-60 watts and provides an incredible boost to the processing capabilities, while simultaneously being the best Intel option for this TDP range. Thanks to liquid metal cooling and the two integrated fans, the emissions also remain reasonably low and although the Vision 14 can run very loud and hot while gaming, it does at least manage the heat in some way. In return, this is a compact laptop with an extreme level of performance and a very low weight of just 1.3 kg (~2.87 lbs) or 1.1 kg (~2.43 lbs), if you do not need the bigger battery.
The Vision 14 is a well balanced system overall that sets itself apart through its good build quality, good connectivity including a fullsize card reader and good input devices. We would be remiss to not mention the good maintenance options, since it is rare to find models with upgradeable RAM slots in this device class. There are drawbacks in the form of a hinge that does not always prevent teetering when adjusting the angle and fairly poor speakers. Additionally, the antenna setup of the Vision 14 does not support modern 6-GHz Wi-Fi networks (Wi-Fi 6E).
Since the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages, however, the Vision 14 should be taken into consideration when shopping for a compact, high-performance laptop. As per usual, more information about the laptop including the benchmarks and measurements can be found in our in-depth review. Furthermore, we are also excited for the recently announced Vision 16 Pro, which transfers the Vision 14 concept to the larger 16-inch form factor.

Even in my youth I was already very enthusiastic about technology, and as a result I started building PCs, optimizing them, and writing programs while I was still in school. When dealing with the inevitable hardware and software problems associated with computers, I was always relentless in my search for the necessary solutions. The compact forms of laptops and smartphones introduced further challenges in this regard. In my reviews for Notebookcheck I try to communicate as objectively as possible how well a device copes with these hurdles.
