Mercedez-Benz recently announced the Mercedes-AMG E-Scooter as a smaller step towards its electric future. The E-Scooter features a 500 W motor, 200 mm wheels, adjustable suspension, and up to 40 km (~25 miles) of range. The Mercedes-AMG E-Scooter is aimed at those looking to skip the last bit of city traffic quickly and conveniently.
Mercedes-Benz has recently announced the Mercedes-AMG E-Scooter designed in partnership with Micro Mobility Systems as an update to the existing Mercedez-Benz E-Scooter. The 500 W electric scooter is designed to tackle the final stretch of a journey in urban settings. The 500 W motor and road-use approval mean that the Mercedes-AMG E-Scooter shouldn’t present any legality issues where stricter laws prevail.
Overall, the Mercedes-AMG E-Scooter seems to be little more than a visual refresh of the brand’s existing electric scooter, with the only notable differences coming in the form of a redesigned base, AMG branding on the handlebar, and slightly more aggressive splashes of colour. Another big change is the €200 price jump. The original Mercedes-Benz E-Scooter comes in at €1,199.90 while the AMG version will set you back €1,399.90.
The Mercedes-AMG E-Scooter has two riding modes that determine performance and range. Sport mode is more punchy and has a claimed range of only 25 km (~15.5 miles), while Eco mode delivers up to 40 km (~25 miles) of range. Range and riding information can be seen via a display on the handlebars or through the Micro App that connects to the E-Scooter via Bluetooth. Weighing in at 14.7 kg (~32.4 lbs), the Mercedes-AMG certainly isn’t a lightweight, but it’s not so cumbersome as to cause significant strain lifting it into a car or public transport.

My interest in tech started in high school, rooting and flashing my Motorola Defy, but I really fell down the rabbit hole when I realised I could overclock the i7 930 in my Gigabyte pre-built PC. This tinkering addiction eventually lead me to study product design in university. I think tech should improve the lives of the people using it, no matter the field. I like to read and write about laptops, smartphones, software and trends in technology.
