Artist management companies Seven20 and AYITA have joined forces to create The Circuit Group, a new IP-focused enterprise.

Could there still be IP gold to be panned? The Circuit Group is a collaboration between music industry veterans from artist management companies Seven20 and AYITA, with a focus on intellectual property.

Founded by Seven20’s Dean and Jessica Wilson alongside AYITA’s Brett Fischer, David Gray, and Harvey Tadman, the new enterprise’s mission is to build business opportunities for artists’ IPs. The Circuit Group aims to acquire 50% ownership in artists’ IP portfolios and partner with them to build opportunities in a wealth of verticals within the music business, in addition to traditional artist management.

“The engine at the center of everything in the music business is the song,” said Dean Wilson, CEO and co-founder of The Circuit Group, and longtime manager of EDM darling deadmau5. “At The Circuit Groupwe are building a network of businesses around IP, putting artists’ creativity at the center, and engaging and sustaining them over the long term. This ensures that artists continue to share in every revenue stream available to them and ultimately gives them more control over their destinies than traditional business models have offered them.”

The group plans to make catalog acquisitions of up to 50% of an artist’s song catalog to not only provide an immediate source of revenue for artists, but to incentivize them to work alongside the company to create additional opportunities around the IP.

The Circuit Group will use this IP-centric business model to invest in or partner with other companies, helping them leverage artists’ songs in various areas such as recorded music, publishing, merchandise, brand deals, gaming, events, Web3, new music technologies, and more.

“I’ve worked with artists for nearly 30 years,” said Brett Fischer. “What’s being built at Circuit is exciting because we get to really push the limits on each artist’s business and get them the credit they deserve. The company’s mission is excellent. It gives us managers more information to make the right moves while building these brands with a long-term goal in mind.”

Altogether, The Circuit Group boasts master and publishing rights to over 3,000 songs, totaling over 5 billion combined streams, featuring artists like Chris Lake, deadmau5, FISHER, HoneyLuv, NERO, and Ninajirachi. The company has offices in Los Angeles, Miami, and London.
