Mike Seavers takes over the position of CTO from Yuga Labs co-founder, Kerem Atalay. Kerem will now serve as a strategic advisor to the brand. Seavers is an experienced technology and product leader, having spent more than two decades in the gaming industry working on projects like Unreal Engine and Fortnite.
Before joining Yuga Labs, Seavers was the Executive Vice President of Development at Epic Games. This is where he led the development teams responsible for creating the Unreal Engine, Fortnite, and the Epic Games Store. Prior to that, Seavers served as the CTO at Riot Games. At Riot, he supported the development of popular games like League of Legends, Valorant, and Legends of Runeterra.
Yuga Labs and Bored Ape Yacht Club are thrilled to have Seavers on board as their new CTO. The announcement of his appointment has already caused excitement among members of the BAYC and Yugaverse communities. Moreover, a clever copy pasta follows the announcement. In true Ape fasion, the line “The Otherside is being built by the people who built Fortnite.” was thrown around Twitter minutes after the announcement.
