Boosie Says Jay-Z Is Not Relevant In Today’s Music

Louisiana rapper Boosie is known for being vocal, and in one of his latest opinions, he says Jay-Z is irrelevant in today’s music. He also adds that younger generations don’t listen to Jigga in clubs.

“Wipe Me Down” rapper, Boosie, who recently announced a joint album with Atlanta rapper T.I., feels that legendary rapper and businessman Jay-Z is not relevant in today’s music.

In a recent interview, Boosie explains why he doesn’t feel that Jay-Z is relevant.

 “Jay-Z is not relevant today for music,” Boosie said. 

One example he gave was that he does not hear HOV’s music in nightclubs.

 “When I go to these clubs in Atlanta,” the “Set It Off,’ rapper elaborated. “These 25 to 35 clubs, I’m not hearing Nas, I’m not hearing Jay-Z,” he added. 

Boosie referenced rap icon Nas due to rapper 21 Savage saying that he felt Nas wasn’t relevant even after dropping his latest album, Kings Disease III, during a panel discussion on the Clubhouse app a few weeks ago.

Toward the end of the video, Boosie says people respect Jay-Z for the “boss he is” rather than his music. 

Legendary rapper Nas collaborated with Atlanta rapper 21 Savage for the track “One Mic, One Gun” after 21 called Nas “irrelevant” during a discussion on Clubhouse. Nas will also have his own limited edition statue sculptures made by the Company Concrete Jungle that are available for toy collectors.
