0823 GMT – The FTSE 100 Index drops 0.2%, or 15 points to 7506 as losses for oil stocks offset gains for B&M European Value Retail and utilities. Harbour Energy, Shell and BP are among the biggest top-flight fallers as the price of a barrel of Brent crude retreats 0.2% to $73.56 amid demand concerns. B&M European Value Retail gains 6% after the discount retailer reported adjusted EBITDA of GBP573 million, in line with company guidance but down from GBP619m a year earlier. United Utilities, Centrica, Severn Trent and SSE are also among the biggest risers. (philip.waller@wsj.com)
